3rd Silver Linings to be held in Davao City on September 17

“Silver Linings” is an annual educational forum and homecoming for breast cancer victims/survivors and the people who care and love them. The 3rd silver linings will be held on Sept 17, 2011 from 8am to 530pm at the Grand Regal Hotel in Davao City. The affair is organized by the ICanServe Foundation.

The purpose of this national forum is to empower cancer survivors and their family and friends, the medical community, and the general public with information about breast cancer as well as a circle of support.

Yahooo! In celebration of the Kadayawan Festival 2011, P-Noy declared Aug 19, 2011 (Friday) as a special non-working holiday for Davao City.

PROCLAMATION NO. 215

DECLARING FRIDAY, 19 AUGUST 2011, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF DAVAO

WHEREAS, the City of Davao marks the week-long celebration of the “Kadayawan Festival”;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the City of Davao participate in the event, the Sangguniang Panlungsod requested that Friday, 19 August 2011 be declared a special non-working holiday;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Davao be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Friday, 19 August 2011, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Davao.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
